Joint Projects – Cooperation Beyond Borders
Today, the role of Idlib’s expatriates goes beyond financial support to active participation in community and cultural projects through joint initiatives that connect the inside with the outside. These initiatives include entrepreneurship, school development, youth training programs, environmental campaigns, and support for families in need.
Such projects are often managed remotely, using technology to coordinate work between teams in Idlib and expatriates abroad. These initiatives enable the exchange of expertise, transfer of professional knowledge, and the provision of educational or training opportunities that were previously unavailable.
For example, expatriates in Europe have collaborated with young people in Idlib to launch small projects producing natural products, or to create online educational workshops for students inside the city. Other projects include establishing digital platforms to document heritage, promote local culture, or support environmental initiatives.
These collaborations strengthen the sense of belonging and create real bridges between expatriates and their homeland, making participation more than just material support—it becomes an active contribution to community development. Joint projects prove that geographical borders are not a barrier to creativity and community action.
